AIL Oregon - Chris La Fond

About Chris La Fond

Regional General Agent

Chris LaFond currently is a Regional General Agent in Oregon where he serves labor union and credit union members throughout the state. Chris La Fond started with AIL in October of 1993 and was promoted to General Agent in the Spring of 1995. At the end of 1996 he transferred to the AIL World and was promoted to Master General Agent after three months. Subsequently Chris was promoted to State General Agent of Nebraska in 1999. January of 2003 saw him being promoted to State General Agent of Pittsburgh, PA and Executive Council Member and Regional Director in 2005.

When asked for an example of how AIL products have changed a client’s life, Chris relates the following experience: “Within the first 9 months of being with the company I realized how our products help our clients, because one of my clients died.  It was a woodworker in Klamath Falls Oregon.  His wife called me up and told me how the local funeral director wanted to charge her over $10,000 for her husbands’ funeral.  Now I knew that her husbands’ Freedom of Choice Benefit was only for $6,800+; when I asked her what happened she told me, ‘All I did was show them that Freedom of Choice Certificate.’  The Funeral Director took the value of the Freedom of Choice and didn’t charge her more.”

Before joining AIL Chris started and ran home services companies. First a window washing service then house painting – which helped put him through U.C. Berkeley where he graduated as a Philosophy Major.

Chris La Fond now lives in Lake Oswego, Oregon, with his wife Kristin and his four children, and enjoys travel, fine wine and food, and spending time with his family.
